Dinner with Ben and Jenna
Meeting in the Haverfield lobby, we had a little time to wait until Ben and Jenna arrived, so we messed around on the piano a bit. They finally showed up, and we all signed in and headed over to North Commons. Apparently they had never eaten there before (at least Ben hadn't), so we had to explain the swiping process, then got our food and headed to the basement to find enough seats for everyone. It didn't look like many people came when we were in the lobby, but there were quite a few of us sitting downstairs when all was said and done. I sat at Jenna's table first, and we had a great time talking and finding common interests (like "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog!"). Ben joined our table for dessert when the majority of his table was gone, and he learned all of our names fairly quickly. Overall, it was a fun time, and it spiced up the dinner routine with a Humanities flavor!

This is a pretty fabulous summary of the evening! It was a lot of fun and I was glad for the change in our dinner routine. It made me realize how many of my fellow humanities scholars I don't actually know....hopefully that will change though!
ReplyDeleteI agree. It was a lot of fun getting to know new people and learning really cool things about them. While our dinners are never boring, it was interesting to shake it up and get to know one of my "professors" better. In the future, I hope to eat dinner with more humanities scholars to get to know them!
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun! Ben even got my name right! :) Like Erica (and Julianna and Sarah) said, it was a lot of fun to just hang out without all the pressure of being in class or whatever. It would be fun to do again sometime!
ReplyDeleteAw, I wish I could have been able to go! ...But did I read, "Dr. Horrible?" In case anyone is interested (or would like to have movie night sometime), I ADORE Dr. Horrible and have the DVD. Please let this happen. :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed having dinner with Ben and Jenna...even if they did show up a little late ;)I really enjoyed getting to know them and everyone else and telling a little about myself. I definitely feel that I know them a little better now. I would definitely love to do this again!
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed dinner with Jenna and Ben. Since I showed up late, I apparently got there right on time. Not only did I meet other humanity students who lived on my floor but commuter students as well.
