Well, needless to say, I love my mentors(: They were so much
fun! Devon was our motivational leader, fearlessly leading us around the whole
OSU campus, and Kathryn was my lovely photo buddy. We practically ran from
building to building, and the opportunities for taking the pics for bonus
points seemed to fall into our laps. On our way out from the Union, we threw
away people’s trash for them; right from the get-go, we had a group of strangers
do the O-H-I-O for us; on our way out of the Thompson Library, we asked a lone
studier to take a pic of us doing a pyramid.
We got through every single bonus and booked it to all 8 of the
necessary places. We had a fun time bonding and getting a glimpse of Devon’s
competitive nature. Hopefully, we won(: The popcicles at the end were a nice
treat since all that speed walking around made it very hot. The weather was truly perfect for today- not
too sunny and breezy. Overall, the scavenger hunt was a lot of fun and I would
definitely recommend it to the next year’s freshman class.

This scavenger hunt was a really fun way to bond with our mentors. We had already gotten to know our mentors, Alex, Heather, and Jaclyn over the summer through a Facebook group and a video they had posted online but it was nice to actually spend time with them and get to know the campus. We went all over campus to parts that I didn't know existed and I learned what almost all of the buildings were for which is pretty good to know I would think...Our mentors were awesome and really helpful and it's nice to have them as a support system throughout freshman year because they've been through almost everything we're going through and it's nice to know someone that's been there.
ReplyDeleteI also really enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt. It was a great way to get to know our mentors and I got to discover a lot of great tidbits, such as the rockin' food available at the RPAC and how much fun the Whispering Wall could be. I would love to take part in more events like this!
ReplyDeleteI liked the scavenger hunt too! I had a great time running (well walking) around campus, figuring out the clues, and taking pictures with our mentors Briana and Molly. It was fun to see campus and trying to rack up as many points as we could. It was also nice to learn some stuff about campus from our mentors! It was a good day that was made even better by finishing it with some popsicles.
ReplyDeleteThe scavenger hunt was a great way to get to know my mentors. They were really fun and helped us get to know interesting facts about the campus. Unfortunately, most of our puzzle pieces were stolen by the time we got there....oh well. It was a great experience.
ReplyDeleteThis event was very fun, even though somebody was apparently stealing our puzzle pieces so we could not finish the puzzle. Even with all of that, it was still a great way to get to know my mentors as well as my roommate. The popsicles at the end were a great treat.
ReplyDeleteMy roommate Sara had hurt her ankle, so instead of doing the scavenger hunt my mentors took us to noodles and company for lunch. Although we missed out on the scavenger hunt, we still had a very good time, and our mentors gave us a lot of good advice. Overall it was a very fun time :)
ReplyDeleteThe scavenger hunt was a great bonding experience. I got to know my mentors a little better, and grew much closer with my roommates. I really enjoyed getting to know more about campus from another student's perspective, and about learned many things that were not mentioned in any campus tour I went on, such as the whispering wall.
ReplyDeleteThe scavenger hunt was a lot of fun. It was really nice getting to know my mentors in a fun and engaging way. I also got to know more of campus through the scavenger hunt so that was also great! Not to mention I think our group came in first! Overall a great experience!!
ReplyDeleteThe scavenger hunt was a ton of fun because we got to hang out with our mentors and get to appreciate campus all the more while looking for things. Also getting to know my roommates better was a ton of fun too.
ReplyDeleteThe Humanities Scavenger hunt was a great bonding experience for my mentors and me. Unfortunately only me and one of my other roommates could make it to the hunt, but that didn't stop us from having a blast! We posed for pictures, had some enlightening conversations, and learned a lot about the campus!
ReplyDeleteMy mentors, my roommates, and I did the Humanities Scavenger Hunt. It was my first extensive view of campus because I never visited or did a tour besides during orientation where I was disoriented quite a bit. It was a great time and a great workout. Our group did all the activities and also the majority of the bonus point opportunities. Some of our puzzle pieces were taken but that did not stop us from having a good time. I got to know my mentors and my roommates better. It was a rewarding experience.
ReplyDeletehad a great time doing this scavenger hunt, my mentors were super helpful in interpreting the clues and it helped me get to know campus a little better, plus we stopped for smoothies! i had a blast in this event with my mentors.
ReplyDeleteI think this was a fun way to get to know the campus, and it helped out later in the year when I got dragged into another scavenger hunt that was very similar and i knew the spots to look.
