Chicago!!!

CHICAGO WAS AMAZING! Simple as that. It created some great foundations for new friendships and gave me some memories to last a life time. Starting with getting locked out of the museum in the first 20 minutes by going out the wrong door, sitting at a bus stop for an hour to realize it wasn't the bus we needed, going to the top of the Willis Tower 10 minutes before it closed to see the city all lit up or taking a million pictures under the Bean. It was all amazing. Not to mention the Second City stand up comedy show was hilarious! I would recommend this trip to anyone and want to go back any chance I get!

  1. Chicago was so fun. It was my first time there, and I am glad that I was able to go with a group of my friends. While the rain was a little upsetting, the group I was in didn't really let it stop us, and we still enjoyed our time there. The bean was cool, Water Tower mall was excellent, I loved the field Museum and shopping on Michigan Ave. The one thing that kind of bothered my group and I was that no restaurant we went to would do split checks, so it was a little extra time consuming, or, like at Ed Debevic's some of us had to use the ATM there, which charged a $2.50 fee. However, it was still really fun and a great experience. The Humanities Festival was not at all what I expected it to be. I liked that his lecture wasn't boring and felt a lot more like a talk than a lecture. Overall, I loved everything about the trip. Mostly the Gingerbread Hot Chocolate at Ihop, which some of my friends and I ate at both times we stopped at that rest stop.

  2. I loved Chicago! Even learning to navigate the city was more fun than I thought it would be. The comedy show delivered; Second City was hilarious! The hostel was super nice, and the best part was the people. It was great to roam The Windy City, and get the opportunity to absorb culture and art at the same time.

  3. I really enjoyed visiting Chicago. I had visited the cities a few times before, but there were still many new things to see. Even though it rained a lot, we still got to see a lot of the city. The hostel was also very nice. I always enjoy being in a big city like Chicago, and I wouldn't mind living their someday.

  5. Chicago was great fun! I had a good time going to the field museum, eating deep-dish pizza, going to see the Second City comedy show, and simply walking around the city. It was also very nice spending time with everyone!

  6. Chicago was so much fun! When we first arrived, I couldn't believe how clean and lively the city was. The hostel was much nicer than expected and it was great to be able to get my mind off of school for awhile. The most memorable experience I have from Chicago was definitely walking the Magnificent Mile. It was pouring down rain but the group I was in kept walking regardless. We were able to laugh about the experience afterwards. It was so nice to be able to go to such a beautiful city with the great people in Humanities Scholars!

  7. Chicago was freaking amazing. It was great to go somewhere with friends and I even made a couple of new ones. I'd never been there before, as I'm from California, so it was very interesting to compare San Francisco, my hometown, with Chicago. I feel like Chicago definitely has a more industrial vibe and has a longer history. San Francisco on the hand feels a bit more whimsical, as far as a metropolitan center can go. I really liked the whole trip and am very glad I went.

  9. Going to Chicago was really fun. I had never been there before, which made it even better. At first, I wasn't planning on going on the trip, but my roommates convinced me to. I'm really glad they did! They had been to Chicago before, and told me on the bus about The Bean, which I was told is a must-see in Chicago. We did a lot of walking that weekend, but it was worth it. I really enjoyed seeing all that Chicago has to offer, including the Magnificent Mile, and, of course, The Bean.

  10. Chicago was fantastic, but I'm a little disappointed I missed the institute of art, the contemporary art museum, Sears tower (forget Willis tower, searz4lyfe yo)and the blues club. I have decided I'm coming back anyway.

  11. This trip was definitely something I'll remember throughout the rest of my years here. Good food, great sights, and some very funny entertainment. Even the rain and clouds couldn't ruin the mood. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer, I didn't really get around as much as I was hoping.

  12. Chicago was wonderful! I've been to the city before with my mom but it was an entirely different experience to do it with the Humanities Scholars. I was pleasantly surprised by Second City because I'd never seen comedy that I liked as much as I did them. It was a great experience.
