Obama
I might be the only one excited, but I saw Obama! I was completely sick, but I forced myself out of the dorm to go hear the president speak...and John Glenn (he's an astronaut! haha). There dialogue was basically what you'd expect, but it was cool to be part of something kind of historical. Will.i.am was pretty mediocre, though. Most of the music wasn't even his songs; it was just these random remixes (I'm not a big fan of remixes to begin with, so yeah...). Either way, I felt like I did something halfway relevant. It was also a great people watching, too.

I agree with what you said about will.i.am.... especially since he sang along with a recording of himself :P But hearing President Obama speak was pretty cool! (Even if he only talked for 30 minutes after waiting for three hours haha)
ReplyDeleteI went there too, but was at the very back so I couldn't see him. :( Well, at least I heard his voice!! haha.
ReplyDeleteI had class on Tuesday until 4 PM. So after I was done one of my roommates and I went out to the Oval to check things out. At that point there was barely any line. We went through security and got to hear a majority of the President's speech. We couldn't see him at all due to the large crowd but it was still pretty cool to get to hear him speak. After it was over we rushed towards the front, as people were leaving, and we were able to catch about a five second glimpse of the side of his face! That was pretty cool even though it was very brief.
ReplyDeleteI also went to see President Obama. I think I waited for about an hour to see him. I was very excited because I was able to get a picture of him, and feel very lucky to go to a school like Ohio State where we have opportunities like this. It was really the first political rally I had been to where I understood everything that was talked about. I went to one when I was younger, and was not able to vote. I was very excited to know so much more about what was going on this time. I now understand why it is so important to vote.
ReplyDeleteI had only one class that day, so I was able – and quite eager to have the opportunity to see THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (my use of all caps is to highlight the enthusiasm). Prior to him speaking I had anticipated a long campaign speech, and I was more or less correct – aside from being a democratic rally it did though mention a good deal about the importance of voting, and being heard in general that could apply to everyone. When he said “don’t boo – vote!” Aside from being mildly humorous, I thought that this was especially meaningful because of the position Ohio has in this election; each vote has more weight and it might come down to only a few percentage points between the two candidates.
ReplyDeleteThe President's charisma was undeniably a galvanizing force on this day. I stand behind President Obama 110%, so I was glad that I had the chance to hear him talk about what he would do to help MY generation thrive.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed hearing the President speak as well. I loved his charisma and his eagerness to help America recover from the recession and help OUR generation thrive. I agree about Will.I.Am, he could have been much better, but the overall event was amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis was amazing! Not only was I ten feet away from the podium, I also got to shake his hand afterwards. I thought I was really cool to see Will.i.am. and listen to the mayor, Senator John Glenn, Senator Brown, and of course, our President. Definitely something I will never forget!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to hear Obama speak! He is such an inspiration, and it was so nice to see everyone there coming to support him.
ReplyDeleteI loved being at the Obama rally. He is a wonderful speaker and so passionate in what he believes in. I am so short that I didn't get to actually see him, but hearing what he had to say was more than enough. Being at this university has presented me with so many wonderful opportunities, and this was one I had to take advantage of.
ReplyDeleteseeing the president speak is a moment ill never forget. obama is an amazing speaker and being in the presence of the president is an unbelievable honor. it was a great experience!
