For anyone who went to the "Rock the Oval" O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) concert, you know what I mean when I say that it was crazy. Not only did they throw out more t-shirts than there are grains of sand on a beach, but the energy of the crowd was overwhelming, as was the act. My friends and I were in the center of the mosh pit in front of the stage, and it was definitely an experience to remember. None of us had ever been to a concert before! It seemed as if everyone and their cousins were crowd surfing over and around us, and if you didn't pay attention, you could get landed on/crushed pretty easily. O.A.R. (OSU alumni) themselves are a brilliant band, and I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that the song "Shattered" is one of theirs. They are a great band - the horn section was phenomenal! Overall, it was a great first concert.

I really enjoyed myself at this concert! I didn't know who O.A.R. was until I heard them sing "shattered" and all the pieces fell into place. I thought they sounded awesome, and I definitely agree that the horn section made it all THAT much better! So so glad I got the opportunity to go!
ReplyDeleteI love OAR! Even if we did leave a *little* early to go see the midnight premiere of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.. haha Overall, I loved the concert, and I got a free shirt as well ;)
ReplyDeleteI went with Lauren to the OAR concert. We were stuck behind some very tall people and neither of us (both barely over 5') could really see anything initially. A lot of people were pushing each other throughout the concert, however, and we were continually pushed forward. By the last portion of their performance we were in the very front row! All of the shoving ended up working in our favor, which was pretty great. The concert was altogether a very fun event.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to blog about this! I went to this concert with my amazing roommates Julianna and Erica and we had the best time! I had never been to a concert before so it was interesting to experience. We were in the middle of the (very pushy) crowd and I am only 5' so I couldn't really see except for breaks in the crowd. But it was an amazing experience and we all got free (very soft) shirts! Overall a great experience!
ReplyDeleteI loved this so much! I even met the drum major from the marching band! OAR really rocked the Oval and the atmosphere of so many excited fans and students was amazing to be a part of. Glad I went for sure!
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun at this concert! My roommate Faith and I even got t-shirts! I went only knowing of OAR's song "Shattered" but I really enjoyed them! I thought the musical number with the band was really cool too. I'm really glad I go to a school like OSU where concerts like this can happen and for free!
ReplyDeleteI went to this alone thinking it would be awful since I was by myself and don't even know any O.A.R songs but I ended up having a really, really good time. I would definitely go to another O.A.R concert if I could. They were really good, and my type of music!
ReplyDeleteJust figured out how to post to the blogs, but the O.A.R concert was a blast! I like O.A.R and I think they did a really good job live. It was one of the best experiences so far at OSU!
ReplyDeleteI was not previously an O.A.R. fan but I am now! Their concert, accompanied by the marching band and Gordon Gee speaking was possibly the most fun I've had since I've gotten here (and I went to almost all of the home football games)
ReplyDeletebefore this concert i had never heard of O.A.R. but i must say they put on an excellent show. the energy in the crowd and great music made it a super fun concert. they rocked my socks
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part of the concert was having to wait for the band to come, especially since
ReplyDeletei had gotten there at 7:30 or so, but the band did great and I'm glad I went
