Humanities Woods Trip
One of the first sundays that we were here, all the humanities scholars were required to go to the outdoors outing for bonding experience. While we were there I got to meet more amazing people that were involved humanities, besides just my roommates. This outing really made me feel as if I were a part of the humanities experience, it was a fun day.

During the Humanities woods trip, I had lots of fun playing games and hanging out with fellow scholars. Right after the trip, I still hadn't felt as if I had made any more friends, but after a month or so after the trip, I realized I had.
ReplyDeleteGetting to meet other Humanities kids on the trip that lived on the other floors was really nice. Since it was still our first week or so I didn't really know anyone in the building. I enjoyed the activities my group did. We had some pretty clever ideas with the spider web.
ReplyDeleteI also thoroughly enjoyed the humanities scholars retreat. It was fun getting to work with fellow scholars on challenging tasks and make new friends along the way. The day allowed me to expand my peer group within the humanities program.
ReplyDeleteI heard form a friend of mine that some of the other groups didn't take it as seriously, but I think our group did pretty well connecting. It was a ton of fun and a lot of laughing was involved :D I managed to meet a lot of people, too, which is nice since I'm not really good at talking to people.
ReplyDeleteThe humanities woods trip was one of the most memorable humanities events to date. I am fortunate to have met some great people during the trip and I had a blast doing all of the low ropes activities! My favorite by far was the trust fall. Everyone was scared at first, but we cheered each other on and most of us ended up doing it. It was great!
ReplyDeleteThe humanities woods trip was pretty different. I remember the really spunky leader we had; he seemed like he was hopped up on something. Overall though, I had a really fun time. The most fun activity we did was when we had to walk down metal cables whilst trying to balance. At one point I fell off and I got a huge strip of a bruise starting at my lower back and extending all the way down to under my thigh.
ReplyDeleteMy very first Sunday at OSU we went on the Humanities Woods Trip. I was kind of skeptical at first because I'm not really a woods type of girl but it was actually a lot of fun. I got to meet so many new friends in Humanities and the activities we did brought us all closer together.
ReplyDeleteThe First Year Retreat was a lot more fun than I expected it to be. It was nice because we all live in the same building, and got to know each other better through the various activities. This trip seemed to help everyone loosen up a bit and ease some of the nervousness that comes with starting college. I made some new friends and also got to know my roommates a lot better.
ReplyDeleteThis was a life-altering experience! I was extremely skeptical at first, but I was completely wrong. The team-building exercises allowed me to befriend some wonderful people through communal enjoyment. I only wish that we could do this again!!!
ReplyDeleteI will never forget this trip! I made some very close friends because of it.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I dreaded going because of my not-so-fond feelings for the outdoors, but it was not at all what I expected. I wish we had more days like that because it made me appreciate the great power of teamwork.
At the time I really wasn't a fan of this trip, but looking back on it I'd probably enjoy it a lot more now. Some of those activities were kinda fun though...
ReplyDeleteIt was a cool idea, just because it's so different than anything people usually do at school, so it was cool to not be on campus.
ReplyDeleteThese activities allowed me to meet many new people who i am now good friends with. The activities were frustrating at times, but by working together we were able to do them.
ReplyDeleteThis trip was a landmark moment for me. I met new people, embarrassed myself, did some quirky, but fun, activities, and got outside for a longer period of time than I have for years. All-in-all, a rather enjoyable experience.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great way to meet new people. Going into this experience i had not gotten to know very many people in the humanities. I knew my roommates and some people in rooms close to mine but that was all. After the amount of people i knew in the humanities probably doubled. What a great time.
